For those of you who want your Latin jams and hip hop fix in one fell swoop, look no further than musician DeX. A New York City native, DeX is making waves with his first single “Mentirosa” a combination of the fast merengue popularized by folks like Omega El Fuerte and the synthesized beats found in a lot of today’s cutting edge urban music such as reggeton acts Wisin & Yandel and Puerto Rican pop group Da Zoo. Needless to say this song will make you move nonstop for its entire duration and prompt you to press “repeat” for another round (or three) of hip shaking action. You can download the single “Mentirosa” on iTunes.
Now for the hip hop minded folks in the audience, DeX presents a similar dance-floor-inspired jam “Bottle Popper”. A song for a night out in the club to get the crowd going wild, “Bottle Popper” takes its cues from the sounds mainstream artists have used but DeX remains fresh and original. “Bottle Popper” hasn’t been released on iTunes as of yet but stay tuned as I am sure DeX will be releasing more stuff in the not-so-distant future.
