]]> Some fresh new tunes for your ears come from artist/songwriter, Rome Alexander. He has teamed up with his brother, EDM producer/dj Rederic, to create “L.Y.G”, a modern love song made for the summer.

The upbeat, pop sounds Alexander has created makes it the perfect tune to put on when you need to get some work done. What I am really loving is how he used the chopped up vocal sample — it really lays the foundation for the rest of the track. When you take this foundation and add the beautiful instrumentations and Rederic’s classic R&b tone, it’s pretty hard not to listen.

]]> Loving these tunes from Australian singer/songwriter Brice Sedgwick. He recently released his debut album, Pacifo, and it is just chock full of good, solid tunes. Taking musical cues from hip hops beats and industrial synths, to bluegrass mandolins and psychedelic rock, his alternative pop sounds has gotten us feeling good over here.

We had a chance to check out a few songs from Pacifico and we were fans. The two tracks were “Tortoiseshell Sky,” which feature sleepy hiphop beats, cinematic strings and some psychedelic rock guitar and “Midnight in Echo” (an ode to Echo Park in LA), which is much more uptempo but still keeps those cinematic strings while mixing some piano and a nice dose of pop. Listening to Pacifco, I can definitely hear the musical talent Sedgwick has and is waiting to be released.

]]> New music for your weekend comes from Ohio duo Adonis Butler & MIIKØ. These two teamed up to bring you music based off vibes and emotions. They sent over some new tracks from their upcoming project, As I Am, to check out and they were dope.

Falling more into the hip-hop realm of things, both Butler and MIIKØ have created something that pays tribute to the old hip hop style while adding a mix of fresh thoughts and production. The video we checked out were for 2 tracks — “Faded” and “Clarity” with each one taking on its own vibe.

“Faded” is your chilled-out hip hop track that has some beautiful piano melodies which compliments Butler’s rhymes plus a hook that I found myself digging more and more as I listened. With “Clarity” we get a little more upbeat, but still keep those beautiful pianos melodies found in “Faded” – Overall both tracks are solid, but if I had to pick one, I’m leaning towards “Clarity.”

Sort of makes me want to get up and have a party in my office. Really loving those twinkly synths they have incorporated into the track.

]]> Multitalented performer and songwriter, Dandy LXIX, is fresh off the release of her new single, “Trophy” which she created as an anthem for women around the world. We had a chance to check it out and we loved the throwback vibe it had.

There is now doubt that Dandy LXIX was heavily influenced by 90’s Hip Hop and R&B. The song starts with a really cool violin sample that sets the mood for women power. She has an unique voice that works well with her laidback sing/rap style that creates catchy hooks difficult to get out of your head. Overall a solid track, especially for women looking for empowerment.

]]> Next up is some new music from Philly artist Brian Fitzy. He recently released a new album called Hard Times For Dreamers and we had a chance to check out the first single from the album called “No Idea.”

Performed by Brian Fitzy and engineered/produced by Joe Nicolo and Brian Fitzy, “No Idea” is 90’s R&B throwback jam with some modern funk. The track is smooth sailing from beginning to end with beautiful piano chords and a heaping amount of soul and groove. Sort of reminds me a mix of Jamaraquoi and Pharrell. Music today is definitely missing track like “No Idea” and is definitely worthy of your ears

We had a minute to check out a single from the album called “Connected” and we really liked what we heard.

“Connected” is your quintessential 80’s reminiscing record– big, reverby snares and a plethora of washed out synths and dreamy haziness. This is no surprise though since Mr Beri has said that the soul and R&B soundtrack of his childhood was 80’s classics. Like the rest of Avalanche, “Connected” is a ballad, filled with emotional lyrics, impressive harmonies, add some modern production work to derive a sound that is at the same time fresh and nostalgic.

]]> New music for your holiday weekend comes from NYC artist/fashion editor, Alexander Howard. We found out he had a new album out and we were curious to hear what he has to offer. The song we listened to was “Mt. Rushmore” and it was just oozing with delicious melodies.

For this track and most of the album, Howard teamed up with producers Robopop, the masterminds behind Lana Del Ray’s “Video Games” and Maroon 5’s “Payphone.” to create a record that is full of artful pop songwriting, crafty guitars, synths, and some get-under-your-skin hooks. The song is about the escapades on a given night in Vegas with the title coming from him and friends trying to keep a “stone face” for a squad photo right after downing some $3 shots of nameless whiskey. — perfect songwriting material.

]]> Fresh music for your Tuesday comes from Rio singer/songwriter, Laura Rizzotto. Singing since the age of 9, she was signed to Universal Music Brazil when she was only 15 years old. Later on, she took a break from her label to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee.

Fast forward to today and she is gearing up to release a new EP called Ruby. We had a chance to check out the first track from that EP called “The High” and we instantly wanted to get up and dance.

When you hear ‘The High” you can’t help but think of some mid 90’s J-Lo stuff going on. You can hear she is mixing in her roots with the latin-esque laidback drums along with beautiful vocal melodies. This track is no doubt made for the after hours. Picture yourself on a beach, waiting for the sunrise to come up with your dance partner, thats the feeling you get from “The High.”

]]> NYC duo, The Felix, burst onto the scene last year with their debut single, “Coming Back” and have not not stopped. Composed of lifelong friends Jeffrey James and Blake Skipper, the two decided to make it their mission to give people something that they can relate to, a musical experience that combines influences of synth pop, indie rock and r&b.

We got to take a listen to the new single, “Still Holding and we were big fans. The Robyn-esq vibe reminds me of a nostalgic 80’s credits song but with some fresh 2017 updates. The arpeggiated bass lines with those dreamy, luscious synth chords really helps ground the track and provides steady aural pleasure form start to end. The other thing I was digging was storytelling the duo has going on in the track, it may be a little sappy, but it’s a good a type of sappy.

]]> New music for your weekend, comes from LA artist, MJ Ultra. This artist got his start when he wrote and recorded a hip-hop remix of “New York, New York” for the movie, Friends with Beneifts. He has also worked with industry vets including Thirty Seconds to Mars, El DeBarge, Chali 2na, Eddie Griffin and Ruben Studdard. He has just released a new album called Ocean Drive which we had a chance to check out and we’re definitely feeling.

When listening to Ocean Drive I couldn’t help but think of a funky R&B mix of Jason Mraz and Andy Grammer. All the songs are smooth grooving and all-around fun. It really shows you what talent MJ Ultra has. Also, listening to the album, I can definitely say there are a few tracks that can make it into the charts. Overall its an excellent listen.

At first, I was not sure what to expect. but I’m glad I listened. Their is something innocent about his voice that makes you stop and listen. What is even cooler about this song is that when he breaks into the Hindi song, you get some that is very different, but enjoyable

]]> Next up in our BBC playlist is a new LP from Wisconsin electronic/hip-hop artist, Capricanno. It’s pretty simple what this artist is trying to do — share songs about panties, online cheating, and smoking pot with dogs. We had a chance to check out his latest album, Deep Thoughts Fade, and we loved what Capricanno is doing with his electro/hip hop fusion.

Putting smoking trees with dogs aside, there is something very interesting with Capricanno style, it’s very laid back and easy going surrounded by some solid beats and melodies. Really loving the integration of hip/hop and electronic styles. They album’s tracks are dope, catchy, and just enough off the beaten path that you will continue to listen, not to mention that his track names are awesome.

]]> Today we have the upcoming artist, Zoie. This Swedish pop artist started here musical journey in 2015 when she released her first single, “Never Tried To Keep Me.” Now she is soon going to release her new single called “Seduce Me.”

According to Zoie, the song is a perfect story about seduction. Since the release of her last single, “Sense Of Insane,” time has passed and Zoie has told us that her private life has changed completely since then. The new single builds on an exciting story about confusion and love. Zoie also tells us that another person has become important to her and her music and has drastically shaped her new sound.

One thing that is for sure is that Zoie is leaving her heart breaking stories behind and pushing towards a new direction with “Seduce Me.”
