Malaysia’s posterchild of controversial rap Namewee was almost arrested – again – by Malaysian police in connection with a rap video he posted a few days ago about a racist school principal in the southern Malaysian state of Johor. This happens on the eve of Malaysia’s 53rd anniversary of independence and in the midst of a national campaign called “1Malaysia”, trying to instill some racial harmony in a country that’s racially dissonant cos the politicians fuck around too much.
