That it is currently the fasting month and that Senegal-born, Kuwaiti-raised, New York City-based vocalist/producer Fatima Al Qadiri, aka Ayshay‘s song “WARN-U” is out is purely coincidental, but this song is haunting beyond belief, and poignant giving the time of year it is – making me shake with glee. Ayshay’s debut EP, “WARN-U”, will be released next month from Tri-Angle Records and is inspired by the Islamic religious sounds and music of her youth. The entire EP, four songs, is built on sounds she created using solely her voice.
