THE bad ass progressive kuduro collective Buraka Som Sistema is BACK with a new single called “Restless” and it has me going, “OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!”

The boys from Luanda/Lisboa have had a phenomenal year due in no small part to the release of their debut LP Black Diamond which tore sh*t up and left listeners with their mouths open. I never believed in pure perfection (like a good bar of chocolate) could exist in the music world. But alas, BSS outdoes Hershey’s any dayum day.

And just as we were about to replay the record for another round of mind-and-foot numbing dancing, BSS has us going coo-coo for cocoa puffs with the release of “Restless”. The track is much more influenced by dance music as evident in the vocal melody and in the subdued kuduro rhythms. The It’s fantastic nonetheless and will definitely leave you crying. Also BSS IS ON TOUR in the US & Mexico (!!!!!!). They are slated to hit NYC on Wednesday 4th November @ Le Poisson Rouge. I’ma take a moment of silence to not-so-secretly-hate on those of you who will be going.
