I was 15 years old on August 25, 2001 when I, like many others, learned of the untimely death of R&B singer and actress, Aaliyah. She had just released her third album, Aaliyah, one of the best and most forward-thinking R&B albums to have been released. If you listen to it now, you’d be pressed to pinpoint when it was produced (ten years ago).
MTV recently interviewed Missy Elliott asking her how she remembers Aaliyah’s memory. Aaliyah famously worked with both Elliott and Timbaland on her albums.
