Today we have some fresh new tunes from LA trio, Beauty in the Breakdown. Hailing from Highland Park, one of the oldest towns in Northeast LA which has fostered the talent of many musical greats, the exposure to live music ignited a rhythm in front-woman Chastity’s Latin blood and a dream to play music in her heart.
After working her way through the inroads of music touring, (including a stint as the touring percussionist for Duran Duran), she set out to make her own sound. Thus in 2013, Chastity officially formed Beauty in the Breakdown with a little help from her buddy, Ian Alexander. After recruiting the rest of the band, they set out to bring their sound to the world. After getting some exposure on the live circuit, they decided it was time to go into the studio to record their tunes. This led to their debut EP, Neon.
We had a chance to check out Neon and we can say that there is a sound there that will latch on to your brain and stick. From beginning to end, the EP showcases the bands Pop-oriented, dance floor ready sound. Soaring, anthemic choruses with delectable instrumentation grace their tracks while the solid beats and Chastity’s radio-friendly voice keep the dance party going.
