New music for your holiday weekend comes from NYC artist/fashion editor, Alexander Howard. We found out he had a new album out and we were curious to hear what he has to offer. The song we listened to was “Mt. Rushmore” and it was just oozing with delicious melodies.

For this track and most of the album, Howard teamed up with producers Robopop, the masterminds behind Lana Del Ray’s “Video Games” and Maroon 5’s “Payphone.” to create a record that is full of artful pop songwriting, crafty guitars, synths, and some get-under-your-skin hooks. The song is about the escapades on a given night in Vegas with the title coming from him and friends trying to keep a “stone face” for a squad photo right after downing some $3 shots of nameless whiskey. — perfect songwriting material.

Stream the track below and leave your thoughts in the comments.

enjoY!
