Got some fresh new dubstep from MartyParty, a purple music producer and performer in Brooklyn. He has a new EP coming out on February 15th called Blueberry Kush. (great strand btw).
According to Mr. Party, Blueberry Kush is a “6-track EP delivering 100% Purple Music, a sound evolving from dubstep that tells a fully electronic story riddled with hooks and bass that reveal new layers to a 140bpm saga every eight bars.”

This is not dubsteb it is Break Beats seriously its upsetting to see those who don’t recognize break beats or even know what they are, go and make break beat music and call it dubstep. It’s funny because Breaks were the predecessor to DnB in which dubsteb is later created sub genre. But what changed when breakbeat hardcore evolved into DnB in England back in the 90’s was the beat progress. Even though both have broken beats vs the 4×4 they are very different. With dubstep like hardstep and techstep being a subgenre of DnB they still have the same types of beat progressions just slowed down or sped up. Listen to some breakbeats or funky breaks and then some dubstep and see what this song you posted sounds more like. Labeling this track as dubstep makes it seem like ya’ll are jumping onto the dubstep bandwagon or you just don’t know any better. But hey I really dig the track because breakbeats are the shit and they use to rule all of electronic music many a year ago and soon they will make there come back, and ya’ll should be a part of it
Honestly My first impression of this was Electro Breaks
yes, this remix falls into breax genres, but the point of the post was about
his orignal music, and if you listen to it i believe you can say that my
assumptions was correct. thanks for the history lesson about this ever
evolving genres.
