Singer-songwriter David Gray released a double-album last month entitled, Foundling. Just over a year after releasing his last full-length album, Foundling includes a disc of new material and a disc of previously unreleased songs. In usual Gray style, the album is stunning in its composition and execution; Gray’s strong and emotionally-charged vocals are enough to turn any tune into something spectacular. Album opened “Open the Wine” is a catchy, folk tune which sets the tone for the album: musically rich. The quiet and somber “Forgetting” is a thoughtful song without being instrumentally stripped down to just piano or guitar. Gray’s voice is tinkered with a bit in “In God’s Name” to give an effect of someone talking on a phone (sort of). The piano-accompanied “A New Day at Midnight” is stripped down, but Gray’s vocals are full and bright enough to make the song feel not-so-empty.
Gray is currently on tour in the US. For upcoming dates, click HERE.
Here’s “A Moment Changes Everything”, the first single off of David Gray’s Foundling.

Carah Faye (from Shiny Toy Guns) is releasing her new album on 21st Sept. I have heard some of the tracks and already a fan.
