Soul music, electronic music and pop go quite well together and I’m glad that Boston duo Gamble & Burke are bringing just that. Gamble (Kaz Gamble) was once a member of the stylish pop-dance duo Cooler Kids and rock-rap group Bad Ronald. He DJ’d 80s music & electro while living in Hollywood, CA, and rinsed out d&b selections in NYC while living in Red Hook. He eventually met up with Dan Burke in Boston and formed the aforementioned group.
They were just recently featured on Pop Justice as the song of the day, and after listening to their two tracks, “Lets Get Together” and “Isolated”, I can see why. Their sound has all the workings of a good electro-pop tune, the song is upbeat and fun, the melodies are finely crafted and the lyrics are heartfelt which compliment the sound they make, not to mention that Burke sounds like Jamie Lidell a little bit. These guys are unsigned currently, but need to be. Someone get on that.
I’ll let the music do the talking…
enjoY!
