It’s not a secret that I have a soft spot in my heart for LaGuardia HS alum (my alma mater), but if you have not heard the name Bridget Kelly (a LaG alum), I promise you, you will. Bridget, aka BK, is a 23-year-old New York City native and a new artist on Jay Z‘s new entertainment and management company Roc Nation. She’d previously been featured on Perez Hilton with a single she released independently in 2008.

BK made her Roc Nation debut last month @ Jay-Z’s 9/11 Benefit Concert in Madison Square Garden doing backup vocals and she quite literally tore the house down when she sang Alicia Keys’ part in Jay-Z’s song “Empire State of Mind”. Keen on setting the stage for her debut 2010 album, BK is currently on tour with Jay-Z and will be at a city near you (see Jay-Z’s website for details).
