Once Upon a time I was into that hippy-rock/jam-band music. DMB, Dispatch, Matt Nathanson, Howie Day, you name it, they were all staples of my early college musical education. I would download so many live shows, see them on tour and just sit around smoke some bud and listen away. Well, musical tastes changed and as I became more involved in the music scene, it came to the point where I just wasn’t feeling the genre anymore. That was 6 years ago.

Today, I get an email from another college favorite, Guster. Turns out that the Boston, MA band is releasing a new studio album titled Easy Wondeful, an album that has been four years in the making.

The band is offering the first single from the album, “Bad, Bad World” as a free download in exchange for a twitter/facebook post or email submission. The track opens with a nice piano diddy only to add their laidback, groovy folk-rock tones that they are known for.

Hearing this new track made me listen to their stellar album Goldfly again and instantly I remembered what I loved about this band. If there are any Guster fans out there, then peep their website to get the track.

Easy Wonderful will be released on October 5th through Aware/Universal Republic

enjoY!
