We had talked about Crunk Witch , a husband/wife  Electro-Rock act comprised of Brandon Miles and Hannah Colleen a year ago when they sent us their debut EP, The Battle Beyond.  We were really digging the heavy,  screamo, electro-rock vibe they were giving off. Now, With some touring behind their back, it has come time for the duo to release their debut LP, The Legends Of Manicorn on Milled Pavement Records.

According to Miles, the LP can be described as “a fantasy/horror epic, based on the legend of a warrior with a man’s body but a unicorn’s blood and spirit. The album’s story continues as the warrior fights to overthrow a world plagued by fascism and religious radicalism, wielding an army of zombies, demons, cannibals and other creatures.” Pretty crazy concept if you ask me. The LP includes the 5 original tracks from the EP as well as 6 new ones that continue their blend of blissful, catchy anthem-like electro-rock tunes. On the LP you will find tracks that have fast paced dance beats, synthesizers to gazoo, and vocals that are  dark and emotional. When you listen to the album make sure that you listen in order because all the tracks really do tell a story from beginning to end. Highlights on the LP inlcude “A Pumpkin Song,” “Buy One, Get One Dead,” “Flesh and Flames” and the ever catchy, “The Battle Beyond.”

If there is one thing I know for sure about this album, it’s that it rocks hard. If you ever wanted to hear an electro version of Thursday, My Chemical Romance, or Glassjaw then The Legends Of Manicorn is for you.

enjoY!
