New music this morning comes courtesy of UK group, Relation. Composed of Andrew Leary and Oliver Keech, they have crafted a new era of synth-pop with meaningful lyrics and electronic rhythms that can compete with any of the  great synth artists of the past.

Relation has just released their new track, “Optimistic,” which is their second single from their debut LP Fear of Night. The track is pure synth pop that has many similarities to New Order, Pet Shop Boys, even some Depeche Mode, albeit not so dark. What I noticed while listening to their tracks was that Relation’s production work strikes a similar chord with artists like Duran Duran an Tears for Fears. It is as if the track was written in the same time period as the aforementioned artists but with a few modern day tweaks– definitely a great thing these day. Another thing I’m digging about this track is the vocals. Lead Singer, Oliver, is very sincere and has this very full, mature voice that is spot on.

Check out the single below as well as the Diogenes Club remix which is smooth as butter

enjoY!
