Hard Ton: The Biggest Disco Queen of the XXI Century
Ever wonder what a 330 lb (150kg) Italian white dude looks like all glamed out in a fishnet leotard? Well then you can look no further than Italy’s latest disco queen, Hard Ton (see image above which is modeled after Jean-Paul Goude ionic picture). He has just released his debut EP, Selfish, on Gigolo Records and it is def a gem of an EP.
The EP, was recorded and mixed in Bologna and Venice using nothing but analogue and vintage gear from the 303, 606, 707, Oberheim DMX, Korg Monopoly, MS20, Prophet V5. With this gear Hard Ton was able to craft Chicago styled acid house with a disco kiss, all with that old school vibe that you don’t seem to find these days. On top of that add falsetto vocals that have a striking similarity to Sylvester and I can promise you that the dancefloor will be moving all night long. I have listened to this EP at least 6 times since I got it yesterday, and can’t seem to put it down.
Check out the ridiculously awesome music video for “Earthquake” that will definitely turn heads below. I am anxiously waiting for more material from this dude and so should you.
