Valerie is not only a blog, but a collective composed of music artists in the west of France (The Outrunners, College, Anoraak, Minitel Rose, Maethelvin and Russ Chimes). Valerie is a medium in which these artists can share their influences and present their productions.
All i have to say the music coming out from this scene is not only beautiful and catchy, but has that electro swing to it, that can make them classic dance floor tracks, or remixed for some club bangers.
The first band i check out from their collective was Anoraak — These guys know how to craft them. they music is so light and easy on the ears, and vocals just really add to the creaminess of the tracks. I listened to the song Nightdrive With You, and i was hooked in 10 sec — a must listen to track — funky beats with beautiful synths that playfully work in the mix
Listening to another band, College, they have a similar feel.. Imagine the Cure back in the the day with an updated sound similar to Van She or Cut Copy. beautiful melodies and sounds are found throughout every track
Listening to these tracks one can tell that all of these artist are truly talented musicians, and enjoy your support.
