What an interesting night I had last night. Music, a Columbian, and 1 really drunk girl with her bf

Day 2 of CMJ got off to a rough start for me. First off, I really wanted to See the Fire and Reason play at Drom. website said 10pm, I show up around 10:30 and its dead, I mean it’s me and these two other chicks, that’s all. Luckily my friend, Phily Phil, was around and we went around the corner to my favorite bar I used to go to in college when i was underage, Cherry Tavern, for a few drinks. ($5 gets you a shot of tequila and a Tecate, cant beat it)

Eventually, we make it back to Drom, (its nearly 12 am now) and still no one has gone on, 10 minutes later Miz Metro goes on stage with her bassist and DJ.

Miz Metro

Miz Metro was pretty cool, her outfit was amazin (look at pic) and her tracks had enough groove and flow to get the few people that were there moving. Here voice is very soothing and fits perfectly over the electronic/hip-hop/dubish beats the Dj was spinning. Of course, like anything that makes any reference to MJ, when the DJ put on the billy jean bassline sample everyone started screaming, and Philly Phil even did the moonwalk.

The highlight of her set was when she brought her friend/MC Iris on stage. Looking at this girl you’d never would think she would do what she did. She started to rhyme interchanging with Metro for 5 minutes. Her voice was awesome, it was reserved sweet, and sounded really good in the rapping format.

Terry Poison

Next up was the Israeli group, Terry Poison,, who just totally blew us away. 4 chiks, 2 dudes, 2 keytars, tight, tight, tight spandex outfits and cathcy electro-pop tunes is what they had to offer. The 30 minute set was just non-stop disco goodness with the right amount pop. They are totally glam, and were just having a blast, and I loved every minute of it. (Must give props to their outfits, each one wad unique in itself, see pics)

While listening to the music you could definitely hear the middle eastern undertones in their music which just gave it that little extra interesting twist. I was definitely dancing to their music, and that is an accomplishment as I don’t really like to dance. Once thing is for sure… Terry Poison just got a new fan.

Terry Poison - 24 Hours - Single

The Biggest disappointment about the night was that the 1 band I came to see, (and paid $10 to get in with $7 buds) the Fire and Reason, did not even play their show. their excuse– they couldn’t sound check. Amateurs. FAIL
