Sugar & Gold is an eccentric five-some from San Francisco who will be rocking you with their intoxicating indie-dance/disco sound.
The AYA EP highlights their song AYA and 2 other original tracks that are incredibly groovy in the old school disco type of way. Think of the pop sound of Of Montreal and put it over the old school disco tracks the we love, very funky from beginning to end.
My favorite track was “Wait a Minute.” the bass line just really caught my attention, and their vocals reminds me of stuff Funkadelic would do. The hook is dope too, definitely pushes the track over into the awesome realm.
Besides the 3 originals there are 2 remixes from Outhud and Justin Van Der Volgen of !!! who provides a 7+ minute remix that fans of DFA should gobble up.
