So, I stumbled upon the Black Eyed Peas new song “Boom Boom Pow” last night while jammin’ out to iTunes. Yes, apparently they are back and ready to attack with a new album entitled “The End” which is expected to hit stores in about 2 1/2 months.
“Boom Boom Pow” is their first single off the album. I searched the internet for the song and on the first few versions I found that the intro tone, which is featured throughout the track, sounded exactly like Steve Angello and Laidback Luke‘s sound from their remix of Robin S’ “Show Me Love”. I thought I was hearing things, but I wasn’t. I immediately looked for the tracks producer which, to no surprise, is Will.i.am.
I know I’m not the only one whose heard this version of “Show Me Love” and my other dance/electro/house head friends agree. They really do sound very similar. I have to say I’m kinda disappointed in Will.i.am for using this tone. Unless he hasn’t heard Steve Angello and Laidback Luke’s version of “Show Me Love” I really feel he could have come up with something more original for this single. No disrespect to Will.i.am though. I do respect and love most of his work. “Boom Boom Pow” is definitely catchy and after a few listens I was craving more. I’m interested to hear what the Black Eyed Peas has in store for us this spring.
In the mean time, have a listen for yourself and hear what I’m talking about.
Steve Angello & Laidback Luke – Show Me Love (Robin S)

I must say I agree on the intro.
But even worse, the whole sound of the song is ripped from the new kanye west album (with the use of TR-808 & autotune)
And when Fergie begins to spit, am I the only one who hears M.I.A.?(0:46)
Last but not least (from 2:00) where's that beat from? I know it from an electro song, but I can't quite put my finger on it, does anybody know? cheers! (watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULocY5jitXQ for times mentioned above.)
fucking oath, he even said in an interview that when he was in sydney last yr that our electro music inspired him to write that song. and he was down when be by steve angello was released in the club scene. absolute rip off.
