The Great Escape, a foot-stomping, genre-busting three-piece from Venice CA, have struck that California vein again – with their own blend of raw energy song writing. The trio seamlessly merges classic influences like Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix with modern contemporaries Adele and The Dead Weather.
The three first met while songwriting for other artists in LA. This turned turned into a realization that all 3 of them shared the same vision – create an update to that 60s, 70s sound when rock and pop music was still raw and unpolished.
That vision came together for their self-titled and self produced album. According to the band the trio was inspired by everything the West Coast has come to stand for – the surf, the sun, the laid-back attitude, the proverbial Dream. These feelings made it to every single track on the album giving you a soundtrack that oozes a fun-loving, grit-digging vibe and feel.
