Looking for something different? How about experimental electronic producer Zayed Hassan? This Bangladesh artist’s music ranges from Jim Brickman-like mellow instrumental all the way to Deep Forest electronica. His use of instruments like the tabla drum add a World Music flair to his compositions, a little different from the run-of-the-mill instrumental artists these days.
Currently on a path to further explore his muse and cultivate a strong body of work, he recently entered the StageLight Music Creation Contest (run by Linkin Park) and took home the grand prize for his wide-eyed composition, “Leap of Faith.” From the first 30 seconds of the track you know that you are taking a cosmic, musical journey full of delicate piano stabs, bright synths melodies and world instruments. What I really dig about Zayed’s music is the compositional nature of it. It is full of layers of instrumentation and musical talent, with an arrangement that wont let you forget his memorable melodies.
