Afrobeta is a Miami-based duo that blends heavy bass and lush, groovy pop. Comprised of lead singer Cuci Amador (Amador helped co-write and supply vocals on a track featured on Calle 13 album Los De Atras Vienen Conmigo) and producer/keytar player Smurphio, the two have built a name for themselves in their hometown that has a very diverse music scene. (the Miami New Times declared them Best Band in their annual Best of Miami 2010 poll)
Building their fan-base each day, the duo’s first release will be the Do You party? EP which goes between funky electro, arpeggiated basslines, 90’s dance chic, and hip hop all with sassy lyrics.
Highlights include “Play House” which will get any crowd moving and “Two Different Worlds which has a more dub, bass-heavy feel to it. Do You Party? Will be released on July 27th with the duo’s full length set for this fall.
