The way this latest record from DFA duo Holy Ghost! came to be started off as a drunken conversation at Corsica’s Calvi Rocks festival in July 2009. Friendly Fires had just finished their set while Holy Ghost! had just finished DJing. In the post-gig haze the decision was made by each band to cover one of the others songs.
Friendly Fires decided to take on Holy Ghost!’s classic track “Hold On” while Holy Ghost! did Friendly Fires “On Board.” Both tracks are superb disco gems and will be included on a split 12inch from DFA/XL Recordings released on March 8th.
