When Obama was looking for a pumping campaign song back in November it was just too bad that the marching band, protest anthem sounding Jemex Remix of Daniel Merriweather’s ‘Change’ was not around… this would have made a great piece of propaganda.

The track vibrates through your ears with the slick keys in the distance accenting the strong, deep baseline… all in all, creating a crisp and complex structure to the remix. Under the echoing tones of Merriweather’s voice we hear something that sounds like Prince circa 1990 singing backup as “the background singers singing” is pumped up and brought to the forefront of the track.

The song feels like it is ready to explode at the end as it builds up and up but then, in an instant, begins to dissipate. The sudden change in tempo reflecting the tracks theme of ‘change’… well, that’s my interpretation anyway. This original Jemex remix is a sure fire summer stomper guaranteed to get you marching through the streets with you iPod looking for a revolution.
