Unbeknown to me, Cyndi Lauper has come out with a new album called Bring Ya To the Brink. I did not know she still made albums. Apparently this one has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Dance/Electronic Category.
I checked out the album, and was very surprised. the Beats she has on this album are pretty modern and, definitely upbeat. The Beats tend to follow all characteristics of dance music, but what I found to be the most interesting was that the vocals are not your typical dance style.
She takes the beats and sings songs…. no repeating vocals or studdering vocals, just her unique voice pulsing over the thumping beats.
I have listened to this album 3 times now, and i love it.
