So, another group hailing from across the pond has landed on my ipod. – Young Punx.
Per Wikipedia — “Young Punx are a UK based electronic dance music act whose eclectic and energetic style encompasses french house, nuskool breaks and drum and bass, mashed up with elements as diverse as 1980s pop music, hard rock, disco and glam rock.”
That could not have described them better, their beats/sounds crafted by producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer Hal Ritson in collaboration with an eclectic collective of musicians, producers and singers, are incredible. The diversity of the music is 10 fold and each song keeps you asking for more. I listened to the album, “Your Music is Killing Me” and could not find one song that i did not like.
Although this album has been out for a year in the UK, the US debut happened around April. Word has it that they have been nominated for a Grammy for “Best Electronic/Dance Album” a great accomplishment in my opinion.
This is definitely a group to watch for in the future, and if you don’t have the album, check it out… you wont be disappointed.

very good – where’s a dance club when you need it? i suggest taking over a neighborhood bodega and converting it into a suitable dance space – there are tons of bodegas in the ‘hood, business will carry on as usual.
