First up today is a big tune from London based artist, James Wolf. He sent us over his new, groovy track called “Hercules” to check out and we were loving it. The nu-disco/house combo is refreshing, uplifting and overall an excellent record for any mood.

Today we have an artist who makes music that we have a soft spot for. His name is Maye and he is an up and coming Nu-Disco producer from Norway. He sent us over a remix he did for Maya Vik called “Fighter” which we can’t stop listening to. As it turns out this is the 2nd song Maye has remixed for Maya Vik — Guess Maya really likes his sound.

The French know how to make the smoothest electronic music. There’s not much debate needed on this topic, in my opinion. If you’re unsure, check Alan Braxe, Fred Falke, Lifelike, and maybe even that Daft Punk duo.

If you’re like me, you probably enjoy some smooth French electronic music to get you hyped for the weekend and, since today is Friday, I thought it would be good to throw some Darius out at ya’ll.

His “Romance EP” comes out Monday, 2/24, but is available for your streaming pleasure below. It won’t melt the remaining snow on the ground, but it will make you care less about it when you hit the town tonight.

Single: The Fevers – My Soul Memory

The Fevers are a Manchester 4 piece based out of Manchester. They are keen experimentalists of modern and classic studio production techniques, incorporating modern software combined with idolized analog outboard gear into their musical melting pot.

The guys are gearing up to release a new EP on March 10th. They sent use the first single from EP called “My Soul Memory” and it is a booty shaking dancefloor monster! The single encourages you to engage with rhythm and melody as a remedy for soothing the soul set to a backdrop of Motown and classic funk elements with electronic influences of 1980’s Sci-Fi soundtracks as well.

LA based producer Le Youth, aka Wes James, made big splashes this summer with his debut single, “COOL.” The 90’s influenced R&B anthem made its way through the Hype Machine charts and onto the B list at Radio 1. You know we love getting fresh tunes, and I think we may have found a new gem. The track is called “Stay True” and it comes from London-based producer Fort Romeau.

“Stay True’ is a chilled seven-minute slow-burner that moves away from his classic house territory and into a more nu-disco/house direction, cruising along on a leisurely arpeggiated synth figure and a simple but effective kick/clap pattern.

Listen: Daze – Something On Your Mind

French electronic label, Police Records, has started a new alternative beats and house imprint called Brigade Mondaine (Vice Squad in English). The label’s debut release, S.O.L.A.R (which means Sound Of Love Around Radios) is from, Daze, a talented young Parisian producer, churning out nu-funk grooves with his vintage synths, vocoders and talkboxes.

Daze explains: “When I was a kid, my favourites past time was spent listening to the great funk teachers like Cameo, Zapp & Roger, D-Train, Skyy, Midnight Star, George Clinton and all the New-York Funk underground musicians. Funk will alwasy be an important part of my life and music.”

New music video from Brooklyn based Midnight Magic, a nine-piece disco show that features former Hercules & Love Affair alumni Carter Yatusake, Morgan Wiley and W. Andrew Raposo with the vocal talent of front woman Tiffany Roth.

They sent us over a video to their latest track, “Beam Me Up,” which will please any nu-disco enthusiast, but the one thing that separates this band from the others is Ms. Roth, the soulfulness and passion she has in her voice really takes the music to a new level.

Happy Monday! Or not. I know its early, so that is why we are opening up the week with this chilled out nu-disco track called “A Thousand Years” from Cali duo, Weatherhouse. We had first heard about Weatherhouse back in December when they hit us with news of their upcoming album, E Pluribus Cal Disco, and the stellar track “Diamonds.”

The track has that “Forever Young” vibe, but yet keeps its own distinct flavor, right in indie land. Not too fast not too slow, just the right amount for a Monday. Make sure to pick up the rest of the album from their Bandcamp page.
