I heard of Brazilian percussionist/singer/rapper Curumin at the Red Hot + Rio2 concert @ BAM this past Thursday and I liked what I heard. Curumin, the son of Spanish/Japanese parents, brings funk, dub, and other elements together in his sound. Below you’ll see a live performance of his song “Caixa Preta” (“Black Box” in Portuguese), my favorite song off of his JapanPopShow album. You won’t be disappointed.
