Stephanie Morillo (@radiomorillo) – Bixo (Manu Chao cover)

Shameless self-promotion – here’s my latest cover of Manu Chao‘s epic song “Bixo”. The video was recorded on my six mile long walk from my job in Manhattan to my apartment in Queens. Manu seemed a fitting soundtrack to that. Enjoy!

Milosh (@miloshmusic) – Looper in Berlin

Check out this video of Canadian musician Milosh messing around with the Ableton Looper. The result is simply beautiful and chill enough for a gorgeous late spring day. Check it out. Radio Morillo

KING (@wearekingmusic) – The Story

The past 48 hours have been an adventure for Los Angeles based trio KING. Yuna (@yunamusic) Live at Mercury Lounge

Anticipation was the mood of the evening as a line of fans, bloggers, press and some of my friends queued up in front of Mercury Lounge this past Tuesday. The house was packed solid in time for the debut New York City performance of Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna. The NYC blogosphere had already been buzzing about […]

@AtomicTom – Take Me Out (iPhone performance)

I can always count on a newspaper from Jakarta, Indonesia (approximately 9,000 miles away) to tell me what’s going on on the B train in my own backyard. Brooklyn’s Atomic Tom have come to the world’s attention for performing one of their songs, “Take Me Out”, on the subway using iPhone apps instead of live […]

Music Video: Afrojack & Eva Simons – Take Over Control

The wait is over – Afrojack and fellow Dutch artist Eva Simons have released the video to their hit song, “Take Over Control”. While the song is amazing (especially its extended version), the video leaves much to be desired. The songs great lyrics provided enough visuals for the director to go on: “Let’s go take […]

Ray – I’m About to Whip Somebody’s Ass

I watched Ze Frank’s TED talk this evening after a friend posted this video and I couldn’t believe it. An audio clip of a preacher from St. Louis named Ray went viral and became the subject of a number of remixes. He created the song in order to life his daughter’s spirits. The result is […]

Flashback : Neil Young – Transformer Man

Ok, this song recently flashed across my social media radar, and falls squarely into the “How did I not know about this?” bin.  Maybe the result of an out-of-control 80s-style bender with Giorgio Moroder, or perhaps a sage-like commentary on the direction of music at that time, here’s Neil Young like you’ve never heard him […]

Katy Perry’s Too Hot for Sesame Street

Katy Perry’s guest appearance on Sesame Street, which was to air in a few months, has been scrapped by the show’s producers. Reason: parents were upset about her revealing dress. Show producers should’ve caught this one early on and I’m not convinced Katy brought along her own wardrobe for this show, so… Watch the clip […]
