French electro trio Minitel Rose is back two years after their critically acclaimed first album, The French Machine (Futur, 2008). This time around members Raphael, Romain and Quentin have teamed up with K7! Records for their sophomore release Atlantique.
Minitel Rose’s sound falls somewhere between a dreamy mix of rock and dance (the band loves rock drums and dance synths) and the trio tried to accomplish that on Atlantique, composed largely in a rented house overlooking the ocean in Quentin’s hometown of Pornic, France.
This is what Quentin had to say about the album,
“We wanted to get an album composed in a special place during a special period, in a special time of our life. It’s very important for us to be in an atypical place to compose, we are always inspired by what we can see searching for a melody in front of the sea is different that in a big town or in a desert.”
The first single off of Atlantique is “Wild Birds” and it is an anthemic Electro-House/SynthPop track with retro synth chords and uplifting vocals. Check out a teaser video for the album as well as the Wagner remix below and make sure to pick up Atlantique when it is released on November 22nd.
