Christopher Willits is an producer/label owner who makes some chilled out electro-acoustic music. He has produced 20 albums in 10 year, solo and in collaboration, and has just released his 2nd full-length, Tiger Flower Circle Sun, through the Ghostly International imprint. Based on the two singles he has shared with BBC, his music definitely falls into the electronica category, but yet maintains this organic feel to it that is very light and ambient.
With the track “Light Into Branches”, he pulls off this Elliot Smith vibe. It is almost like there are two contrasting parts, the organic feeling of the acoustic guitar arpeggios as well as the electronic elements that are sprinkled around it. The other track, “Sun Body,” gives you a more electronica vibe with disjointed melodies and beats, light and slightly dirty guitars and vocals that act more like instrumentation rather than speech. At times it ventures into the experiment areas, but yet has this overarching smooth-as-butter feel to it.
I only got to sample 2 tracks from Tiger Flower Circle Sun, but from what i heard, the album is sure to please a many.
enjoY!
