NYC artist Hesta Prynn is evoking the spirit and sound of those classy yet hardcore dance-rock girls of NYC’s past. Formerly a member of the all-girl hip band group Northern State, she has decided to take here voice in a whole new direction.
With a sound that is equal parts rock and electro she enlisted the help of her pal Sara Quin (Tegan and Sara) to cultivate her new sound. The music is a combination euphoric beats and distorted basslines with punk guitar riffs layered all over. Take that and add a punk rock girl’s voice/attitude and you have a very edgy, energetic sound that reminds me of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but with an electro-pop flare. Good stuff indeed
Ms. Prynn is putting the final touches on her first solo album due out later this year. Check out here first single, “Can We Go Wrong”, below. If your in NYC this week you can have a chance to catch her live this Wednesday, January 27th at Pianos
enjoY!

Badass track. Keep em coming, this is some good stuff that can go well at any venue that has a great diversity. Can’t wait to play this one out.
