Continuing my discovery of Latin dance/electronic music, we have Urban Legend. The story of Urban Legend goes something like this. 2 producers, J -Radical and Kool Kojak (best known for co-writing/producing Flo Rida’s “Right Round.”), first met in my hood, Ft. Green, in Brooklyn at Moe’s bar. Upon being introduced by super producer Dr. Luke (best known for his work with artists like Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Ke$ha, Avril Lavigne, both producers hit it off instantly–all because Kojak thought J-Radical’s new kicks were “dope” (it is true, you can gauge a person just from their kicks). Next thing they knew they were two white boys making some catchy Latin beats.
Urban Legend is getting ready for WMC early this year and wanted to float us their new track, ‘”World Keeps Spinning”, from their new album, Tropical Techniques. According to them, the track is the perfect tune for the poolside and a fresh mojito–they couldn’t be more right. The track features the vocals of LA based Chana and is silky smooth with its synth stabs, and loungy dance beat.
