Saw this over at Spinner. The Smashing Pumpkins, AKA Bill Corgan, have just released their latest track called “A Song For A Son.” It’s the first out of 44 that will be released one at a time as part of the new SP album ‘Teargarden by Kaleidyscope.’ (totally a SP name)

The song is a more emotional one. Starting off with a pretty piano melody and an acoustic guitar, it breaks into a full rock song with a screaming SP solo near the end. At first listen i wasn’t too sure if I liked it or not, but after a few more, I can say that I am digging it and looking forward to the other 43. Another Mellon Collie?

All 44 of the new Smashing Pumpkins tracks will be available for free at the band’s website. They’ll also be released in 11 four-song EPs.
