Chicago artist Coke Rats (Timothy Tsurutani), who for some reason  is obsessed with serial killers and fantasy movies, is new to the game. He just released his debut, Smooches, which according to him is one stoned, cannibalistic trekkies’ quest for superior feeling.

The first think you’ll notice about his music is the freakish, girlish, falsetto voice he applies to his music. At first listen your not sure if you like it, but as the songs progress you start to find that it has this unique character to it. The next thing you will notice is the arrangement and style of his music. Very simple and catchy and at times has enough pop to make you hit repeat. Didn’t really know what to expect with a name like Coke Rats, but hey, sometimes you need to take that leap…
