Slo-Mo is the brainchild of Philadelphia steel guitarist Mike “Slo-Mo” Brenner. Brenner has recorded and played on the road with such artists as Badly Drawn Boy, Magnolia Electric Company, Marah, Melody Gardot, G Love and more. When you add that talent with front man Mic Wrecka’s rhymes and hip hop poetry, as well as full live band, the result is funky hip hop jam band type tunes that groove.

Following up on their last LP, Smokey Mountain, Slo-Mo is back with their latest album, Gimme What You Got. which evolves their unique sound even more. The use of a steel guitar really adds a fun  bluesy dimension to the sound of hip hop which I’m liking a lot. Mic Wrecka’s lyrics flow like water and their backup singers provide sultry harmonies to just put the total listening experience at level 11 –definitely unique sound in its own right.
