Those Binary Kids are back once again, ready to fill your ears with beautiful dreamwave music. This time they are pushing Binary cornerstone Producer/Remixer Keenhouse (Ken Rangkuty).
We first heard of Keenhouse when he was featured on the Nightwaves mixtape, Dreamwave 2, but what we didn’t know was how accomplished he is. Hailing form Germany, but residing in LA, Keenhouse has been producing music for the past 10 years. He has a major record deal with Sony overseas and his latest Album Civic Transit was just released in Japan on Thistime Records. The track we want to share is the track that bears the album name, “Civic Transit.”
Immediately upon first listen we were transported back to the 80′s with its bright poppy nu-disco sound. (It sort of reminded us of the music used in those 80′s movies where there is a montage scene) The track has an awesome horn sample, and a deep groovy bassline that is making me bop my head as I type this review. In support of this single Keenhouse asked Valerie Collective favorite Anoraak to remix the track, as well as fellow LAist Fabian.
The Anoraak Remix is beautiful sounding with his trademarked arpeggios and light airy feeling, while the Fabian remix gives us a more “conventional” sound. Regardless, both lend to good listening.
