The Splinters – Splintered Bridges

Oakland all-girl quartet The Splinters have quickly honed their musical chops and developed a real knack for filling their garage-pop songs with the catchiest of pop hooks. The 4 girls met while attending UC Berkley and started to produce lo-fi pop rock songs, which then led them to playing a ton of local shows. Their live performances at SXSW 2009 were met with kind words and people started to notice.

“Splintered Bridges” is the bands’ first proper release and has a mix of vintage garage riffs, ’60s girl group-style vocal harmonies, and overall catchiness. The songs are short and straight to the point — rock out fast and hard for 2 minutes while simultaneously being caught up with the hook. Sort of reminds me of early Ramones. Check it Out
