After covering Wallpaper.‘s catchy remix of Das Racist’s “Combination Pizza Hut & Taco Bell, I was intrigued to hear what else they had up their sleeve. Low and behold they have just released their first single titled Pool Party.
To Be honest, it was not what I expected, compared to the Das Racist remix, this is a totally different sound. The track has a very light feel, a great summer jam to be honest. The simple melodies leave plenty of room for Jacob Safari of The Mae Shi to do his thing by bringing happy, upbeat lyrics and sound to the track.
After hearing this I’m sort of curious to hear what their other original productions sound like. Guess I’ll have to wait till they drop their debut LP Doodoo Face on September 22nd.
