The Dublab, a non-profit radio collective, and record label Anticon have been bumping beats and fists since Anticon made its move to Los Angeles. After a little finagling Anticon inherited the ‘In the Loop’ serious from the Plug Research label to bring you Dublab’s latest installment, In The Loop: Volume 5.
In the Loop takes fresh sounds from the most vivid music-makers around the world. Previous installments have included big wig names like Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, Caribou and Prefuse 73 to name a few.
Like each ‘In the Loop’ installment, the album comes in two halves, “Future Side” and “Roots Side” with each side having its own unique character.
The album will be released on August 25, 2009, but in the meantime check out a sample song from the compilation by Teengirl Fantasy called ‘Portofino.’ Good stuff.
