Blane Fonda is a Chicago-based band featuring former members from dance-punk rockers The Sapiens as well as the singer of Technicolour Stallions, Mark Wetzel.

They have sent us their first single, “Opportunity Rocks,” from the forthcoming Blane Fonda record Master of Stars and Broken Arms, which is a 7 song EP that will be released 8/13/09.

Keeping with their dance punk influences, Blane Fonda creates some good rock. “Opportunity Rocks” is part anthem, part punk. Ambient Distorted guitar fill your ears while the light touches of synthesizers grace the track at just the right moments. Wetzel voice is very “mature” and often times reminds me of The Cure, or Brit Rockers, The Kooks.

One Thing I know is that these guys will make you dance while keeping you planted in that rock and roll sound. Very good listening.
